Sidney Lee Harris, Jr.  66, of Slaughters, KY passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Sidney was a coal miner for 40 years.  He worked at various coal mines in the area.  Just recently retired from Warrior Coal.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sidney Harris, Sr. and Emma Harris and one brother Michael Wayne Harris.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Charlotte Harris of Slaughters, KY 2 Daughters Suzie Owens (Randy) of Sturgis, KY and Jennifer Donaldson (David) of Nebo, KY 4 Sisters Mary Carrigan of Clay, KY Kaye Gill of Waverly, KY Patricia Sanders of Jackson, TN and X-Ann Sheely of Sturgis, KY.3 Grandchildren Seth and Savannah Owens and Colton Penrod.  Mother-in-law June Rich and 2 Brother-in-laws Larry J. Rich and Terry Rich.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 1, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Blackford, KY.  Visitation will be Thursday, August 31, 2017 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and 9:00 AM til service time on Friday.

In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions can be made Oak Grove Cemetery or Lisman Cemetery.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
