Raymond “Durwood” Arnold, age 80, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his home in Sturgis Ky. He was born in Webster County to John “Alloway” and Justine (Blackwell) Arnold. Durwood was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sturgis, KY where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and a member of Brotherhood. One of his greatest experiences was traveling to Kenya and building churches with the Baptist Men and the Mission work he did in Africa. Durwood was a farmer for 30 years, retired owner of the Purina Feed store in Sturgis, and an Emergency Medical Technician at the Union County Methodist Hospital for 20 years. In early years he was a very active member in the Union County Community serving as Past President of the Union County Fair Board, Union County Farm Bureau, and Union County Pork Producers. Durwood also served as Magistrate of the 5th District of Union County Fiscal Court.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Jackie (McKown) Arnold.

Memorial Services will be Sunday July 7, 2019 3:30 pm at Sturgis First Baptist Church, with Bro. Shane O’Guin officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 til service time at the church.
