Lee Townsend, 84, of Clay passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville.
Lee was born in Bee Spring, KY on March 19, 1935 to the late Martin and Ada Vincent.
Lee was a member of Pennyrile Church of Christ in Madisonville and Church of Christ in Providence. She loved to sing harmony and spiritual hymns. She owned and operated Lee’s Dolls, she was also one of the founders of “Down at Papa Joe’s” which is now the Clay Pantomime and Lee was also involved with the Clay PTA for many years.
She is preceded by her son Luke Townsend in 2013, her husband Garland Townsend in 2008 and 2 great-grandsons Rafie Hill and Rhett Hill.
Survivors include 2 daughters Pam Hill (Ronnie) of Providence and Glenda Shoulders
(Pete) of Clay 1 brother Glen Vincent of Louisville 7 grandchildren Ronda Hill, Ryan Hill (Rachel), Robin Hammack (Josh), Brock Shoulders (Angela), Kayce Kern (Troy) Miles Townsend and Colby Townsend and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Ronny Stubblefield, Ryan Hill and Chip Palmer officiating. Burial will be in New Clay Cemetery in Clay. Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 2019 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and 9:00 AM til service time on Tuesday.
