Maxeen Kelley Marks, 91, of Madisonville formerly of Clay passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY.
Maxeen was born in Clay, KY on March 2, 1927 to the late Dailey Hyatt and Agnes Proctor Kelly. She graduated from Wheatcroft High School in 1947 and then went to Western Kentucky University. She taught school in Diamond, Blackford and Wheatcroft. She was also a graduate of Madisonville Beauty College. She then married John T. Marks on October 28, 1949.
Maxeen loved to cook and won many awards for it. She even much wrote her own cook book and had it published.
She was a member of the Webb Memorial United Methodist Church in Clay.
She is preceded in death by her husband John T. in 2016 a grandson Jason Bryan. A great-grandson Jason Bradley Bryan Jr. 2 sisters Barbara Beckner and Margie Taylor and 2 brothers Morris Kelley and Dorris Kelley.
Survivors include 1 daughter Susan Kelley Marks of Clay 2 sons Keith Thomas Marks April) and LeMar Hyatte Marks both of Madisonville 1 sister LaDon Frederick and 1 brother D. H. Kelley both of Clay 2 grandchildren Luke Bryan (Autumn) and Fowler Marks 3 great-grandchildren Kylee, Keira and Chloe.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Webb Memorial united Methodist Church in Clay with Bro. Vernon Perdue, Bro, Adam Berry and Bro. Dennis Cotton will be officiating. Burial will be in New Clay Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 26, 2018 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Webb Memorial United Methodist Church and Saturday 9:00 AM til service time.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Walnut Grove Family Worship Center, P O Box 278, Dawson Springs, KY 42408. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
