Alice Annetta Chandler

Alice A. Chandler, 77 of Dixon passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Shemwell HealthCare in Providence, KY.

Born in Holt, Nebraska to Orval and Jessie (Mitchell) Hartland, she eventually met Thomas Chandler in Weaverville, CA. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, they relocated to Dixon where they built their home. She was a homemaker who was known for her beautiful artwork and elaborate wedding cakes as well as keeping her three young sons on the straight and narrow while her husband was working hard to provide for his family. She was very active in her sons’ busy school years driving them to various practices and events. In her early years she enjoyed hopping on the back of Tom’s Harley and traveling around the USA. She was thrilled when her granddaughter Chelsea was born because she finally had a girl to love on. She loved her daughters-in-law equally and enjoyed family time together. She was as active in her grandchildren’s lives as she was with her sons. She spent many days outside playing badminton or taking Blake and Chelsea miniature golfing or to the mall to ride the carousel.

Alice loved the Lord and was very well versed in scripture. She enjoyed attending Shady Grove General Baptist Church when her sons were younger and was active with the youth group. After her sons moved out, she began attending various churches around the community as well as the Prayer Center in Madisonville, KY and area bible bookstores where she was always searching for items to share her love of the Lord with others.

Alice was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Thomas, who passed July 2025 and several siblings.

Alice is survived by her three sons Tommy (Estelle) of Sarasota, FL, Timmy (Shelly) of Dixon, Jamie (Daphne) of Thornton, CO; two grandchildren Chelsea (Matt) Brister of Slaughters, Blake (Hanna) Beaver of Bell Buckle, TN; four great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Braxton and Madilynn Brister of Slaughters and Eliza Jane Beaver of Bell Buckle, TN; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Blake Beaver officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Cemetery outside of Dixon. Visitation will be Friday at 10:00 AM till service time at the funeral home.
