Brandy Lynn Gobin, aged 50, of Fredonia and formerly of Clay, passed away at University of Louisville Hospital. Born on May 11, 1976, in Madisonville, she was the beloved daughter of David Thompson and Ricca Guess, and a member of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joe E. and Mary Lou Thompson, and her maternal great-grandparents, John and Sharlene Shelton.  Brandy leaves behind a loving family: her mother Ricca Guess (Don) of Fredonia, father David Thompson of Clay, daughters Corryn Thompson of Olney, IL, and Josie Gobin of Elizabethtown, son David Joseph Benton (Dee) of Clay, sister Donna Brooks of Clay, brother Kyle Thompson (Vickey) of Madisonville, and granddaughter Anastasia Benton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, officiated by Kent Martin, with burial to follow at New Clay Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the service begins at the funeral home.
