Charles Everette Legate, Jr. 89, of Clay passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.

Charlie was born in Clay on November 1, 1933 to the late Everette and Medrith Legate.

He was a coal miner and retired from Uniontown Mines he was a member of First General Baptist Church in Clay.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Greta Legate in 2015.

Survivors include a daughter Mindy Thomas (Brian), son Greg Legate (Melaine) both of Clay, a brother Davis Legate (Linda) of Madisonville, 4 grandchildren Adam Legate (Jamie), Tyler Noffsinger, Cassidy Brumfiel (Ben), Paige Thomas, 3 great-grandchildren Griffin Legate, Greer Legate, and Evyn Grace Brumfiel.

Graveside services will be Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay with Brother John Brumfiel officiating.
