Daniel "Popeye" Harris, 94 of Dixon passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Morganfield Nursing and Rehab in Morganfield.

Daniel was born in Tannersville, VA on February 12, 1929 to the late William Dexter and Maggie Bell Harris, he was a member of Providence Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was an elder for many years, he worked and retired from Dotiki Mines.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years Mary Harris, 1 daughter Zeean Bumpus (Chris) of Dixon, 1 sister Christine Robinson (Randall) of Meadowview, VA, 2 brothers Curtis Harris (Dorothy) of Hickory, NC, Donald "Nip" Harris (Janice) of Wheatcroft, Grandson Robert "Bo" Hackney III (Ashley) and 2 great-granddaughters Madelyn and Kate.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Diane Oakley officiating.  Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be Saturday 10:00 AM till service time at the funeral home.  A special thank you to Morganfield Nursing and Rehab for the exceptional car and all the love.
