Obituary

Darrel Alan Winstead 47, of Madisonville, KY passed away Friday October 28, 2011 in Centertown, KY.
He was an explosive engineer for Memsco in Dawson Springs, KY., He was a member of First Baptist Church in Clay, KY. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Gulf War, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post #289 in Clay, KY where he had served on the Honor Guard. He was preceded in death by his mother Magalene Winstead in 2005.
Survivors include his son Michael Winstead of Colorado Springs, CO and Michael's mother Andrea Winstead of Lawton, OK. His father Ray Vernon Winstead of Providence, KY. Two sisters Marcia Dowdy and her husband Todd of Fairhope, AL., Tamara Outland and her husband Mike of Franklin, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday November 2, 2011 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Clay, KY with Bro. Chad Clark officiating and burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Clay, KY where military rites will be conducted.
Visitation will be Tuesday November 1, 2011 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY and Wednesday November 2, 2011 10:00 AM til service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Kentucky Veteran's Center Activity Fund, 926 Veteran's Drive, Hanson, KY 42413
