David "Stovepipe" Lewis, 73, of Clay, KY passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Crittenden Health System in Marion, KY.

David retired from the coal mines after 35 years, he was a UMWA District 23 member Local #1802.  He loved UK basketball, collecting tractors, hunting and fishing and being outdoors.  He was of the Baptist faith.  He is preceded in death by his father Jessie Leon Lewis and his mother Evelyn Runion and 1 son D.C. Lewis in 2016.

Survivors include 1 daughter Sherry Collins (Bill) of Sturgis, KY 1 son Jason Lewis (Lynette) of Madisonville, KY 1 sister Barbara Jean Runion of Myrtle Beach, SC 1 daughter-in-law Julie Lewis of Murray, KY  9 grandchildren Tara Wright (Trae), Sara Omer (Derek), J.D. Collins (Kayla), Abigail Lewis, Sydney Lewis, Dreaw Lewis, Zach Traylor (Shauna), Courtney Menser (Sean) and Colby Traylor 6 great-grandchildren Peyton Wright, Carrson Wright, Kaelyn Omer, Cheyann Collins, Hayes Collins and McKinley Menser.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY with Billy Parrish officiating.  Burial will be in Blackford Cemetery in Blackford, KY.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home and Thursday 10:00 AM til service time at funeral home.
