Donald Joe Rayner, Sr. 84 of Providence passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital in Henderson.

Donald was born on September 8, 1937 in Rensselaer, IN to the late John William and Jennie Maude Rayner.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 1996.

He was a coal miner and had worked at Island Creek and Hamilton #1.

Survivors include 2 daughters Beverly Dunbar (Charles) of Grand Rivers, Brenda Sigler (Mike) of Providence 2 sons Don Rayner, Jr. (Barbara) of Henderson, Stephen Rayner of Panama City Beach, FL, 5 grandchildren John Dunbar (Brandy), Jennie Dunbar, Christina Rayner, Whitney Winstead (Billy), Elias Rayner, 10 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Brother Fred Harrison will be officiating.  Burial to follow in First Christian Church Cemetery in Providence.  Visitation will be Monday 10:00 AM till service time at the funeral home.
