IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Elsie Vera

Wallace

November 19, 1943 – February 11, 2025

Obituary

Elsie Vera Wallace, 81 of Providence passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Shemwell Nursing Home surrounded by her family.  She was one of 8 children born to Claudia Campbell.  Elsie married David Wallace in April of 1969, who preceded her in death in 2015.

Elsie was a big personality in a small package.  She loved to laugh and make others laugh as well.  She had a passion for softball and began the first girls softball league in Clay.  She worked tirelessly to ensure each girl had a glove, bat, ball and a ride to practices and games.  She taught her girls to play hard, to be a gracious winner, as well as loser.  A win was always rewarded with a milkshake at Al's Diner.

Elsie was a florist, a talented seamstress and enjoyed decorating.  She loved Jesus and had attended Grace Baptist Church in Clay, where she taught Sunday School, participated in Bible Schools and plays.

Elsie was generous and loved to help anyone in need.  She was a devoted wife and mother.  Her most favorite role of all was being Grandmother/Memaw to her grandchildren, whom she referred to as her "Fab 5."  She loved spending time with them, they were the light of her life.

Elsie was preceded in death by her mother Claudia Campbell, her husband David Wallace, sisters Myrna Stone and Pamela Hill, brothers Tommy Sanders, Mike Sanders, David Sanders and Timmy Campbell.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Jeff Wallace (Paula), Amy Carlisle (Brad) both of Clay, 2 sisters Rita Ray (J.B.) , Jana Perkins (Alan) both of Providence, grandchildren Paige Carlisle (Max), Jalen Wallace (Jaci), Brandon Carlisle, Moriah Hayes (Kyle), Ethan Wallace, 1 great-grandchild Emmett Molinarolo. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
