Obituary

Essie Gibson, 84 of Clay passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Continued Care Hospital in Madisonville.

Essie was born in Crittenden County on April 4, 1940 to the late Vernie and Kittie Marie Quertermous.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Clay for more than 50 years.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Donnie in 1998.

Survivors include 2 daughters Donna Brown (Robert) of Dixon, Janice Rich of Clay,3 sons Gary Gibson (Candy) of Clay, Michael Gibson (Linda) of Sturgis, Jimmy Gibson (Dianna) of Clay, 1 sister Bessie Gibson of Dixon, 12 grandchildren Heather Gibson, Jeffrey Gibson, Jerry Ray Gibson, Haley Thomas, Michelle Brown, Melody Quillen, Misty Sale, Jayce Gibson, Clayton Brown, Cassie Schneider, Charity Wallace, Terry Wayne Rich II and several great and great-great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Brother Ronnie Gibson officiating.  Burial to follow in White Oak Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2024 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM and 9:00 AM till service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
