Evan James
Hust
January 18, 1995 – July 13, 2025
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Evan James Hust, who left us too soon at the age of 30 on July 13th, 2025.
Evan's life was full of laughter, kindness, and deep, open connections, bringing joy and compassion to those who knew him. He had a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor that could light up a room, and was known for his goofy antics on the golf course, playing the drums or at the table during family game nights. He was fiercely competitive and almost always had a ball of some sort in his hand, tossing it around with kiddos or challenging someone to a quick game.
Evan was a deeply adored son to Lisa & Doe Pritchett and dearest brother to Dane (Lauren), Leah (Jon), and Sarah (Caleb). He will be deeply missed by Whitney Ressett, nephews Judah and Wells, best friends who were more like brothers (John Michael, Eli, Dylan, Ethan), numerous aunts and uncles, dozens of cousins, a circle of dear friends and beyond. His memory will live on in the countless funny stories and cherished moments he shared with us.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mel Hust; maternal Grandparents, Tommy & Sue Mary Wedding; paternal Grandparents, J.V. Hust, Delores and Reburn Lovell and Melba Pritchett; cousin, Nick Wedding; and cherished friend, Jerry Papineau.
Though he faced challenges that often remained unseen, Evan's heart was full of gentleness, and his life was full of meaning. In one of his final reflections, Evan said, "Where our strength is, is where God is." We hold tightly to those words, trusting that he found peace in God's presence. We will remember Evan for his hysterics, his loyalty, his generous heart, and the way he made people feel loved. Though our hearts ache, we find peace in knowing he is now truly free and fully held in the hands of God.
