Genave Franklin, 96, of Eddyville, KY formerly of Clay, KY passed away peacefully into heaven surrounded by family and friends at 5:39 PM on January 2, 2016 at Christian Care Center in Kuttawa, KY. Genave graduated from Wheatcroft High School in Wheatcroft, KY in 1937.  She was a member of Rock Springs Church in Wheatcroft, KY and after marrying Dick Franklin she later became a member of Ashland Cumberland Presbyterian Church. One of the many things Genave loved to tell about was her trip to the Holy Land and Greece years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick Franklin in 1983 and her son Terry Franklin in 1988. She is survived by 2 Sons Bob Franklin and his wife Karen of Eddyville, KY and David Franklin and his wife Karla of Clay, KY 8 Grandchildren Jim Franklin, Julie Mayo, Tonya Young, Jo Franklin, Rowdy Franklin, Chessa Franklin, Coltin Franklin and Parker Franklin. Many Great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY with Rev. Karen Franklin officiating.  Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay, KY.  Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2016 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM til service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Gideons International, P O Box 412, Sebree, KY 42455.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
