Obituary

George "Johnny" Brown, Jr.  86 of Clay, KY passed away Saturday February 9, 2013 at his daughter's home in Evansville, IN. He was a coal miner for over 43 years and worked at Webster County Coal.  He was a U.S. World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Webb Memorial United Methodist Church in Clay, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jo Brown in 2012. Survivors include his daughter Shauna Garrett and her husband Darrell of Evansville, IN 1 grand daughter Darah Jirkousky  and her husband Todd of Jackson ,MO and 1 Grand son Trent Garrett and his wife Leisha of Calhoun, KY. 3 Great Grandsons Colin Garrett, Chase Garrett, and Cade Jirkousky. 1 Brother Ray Brown of Cincinnati, Oh., 1 Sister Lou Johnson of Louisville, KY.  Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday February 13, 2013 1:00 PM at Webb Memorial United Methodist Church in Clay, KY with Bro. Michael Sweeney and Bro Trent Garrett officiating and burial to follow in new Clay Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be Tuesday February 12, 2013 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Webb Memorial United Methodist Church in Clay, KY and Wednesday 9 AM til service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Webb Memorial United Methodist Church 370 St. Rt. 109 N., Clay, KY.
