Obituary

James Douglas "Doug" Davis, 76 of Clay passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.

Doug was born on November 24, 1944 in Evansville to the late James Arthur and Sylvia Christine Davis.

He had been a restaurant owner and district manager at the Pantry.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by 3 sisters Betty Goode, Nancy Burnett and Barbara Lewis Pryor and 2 step-brothers Kenny Groves and Danny Groves.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years Kathy, 1 daughter Wendy Davis (Tracy) of Ontario, Canada, a step-son John Robert Uildriks of Terra Haute, IN, 2 step-daughters Jennifer Ann Storms (Cody) of Earlington and Heather Noel Williams (Gregory) of Providence, 1 sister Beverly Gardner (Jesse) of Dixon, 2 brothers Albert Davis (Vickie) of Evansville, Chester Davis (Jennifer) of Clay, 1 step-sister Brenda Wickware (Ben) of Wheatcroft, 2 step-brothers Jerry Groves of Sturgis and Terry Groves of Wheatcroft, 3 grandchildren Abby Storms, Olivia Williams and Benjamin Williams, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Brother Ronnie Gibson officiating.  Burial to follow in New Clay Cemetery in Clay.  Visitation will be Wednesday 10:00 AM til service time at the funeral home.
