James Elmer "Jimmy" Yates, 59 of Wheatcroft passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 at Deaconess Union County Hospital.

Jimmy was born in Evansville, IN on June 23, 1964 to the late James and Mary Yates, Sr.

He attended Rock Springs Church in Wheatcroft.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years Brenda Yates, step-daughter Christy Freeman (Robert) of Clay, step-son Chad Marvel (Lyndsey) of Slaughters, 7 step-grandchildren Emily Reynolds (DeAndre), Hailey Marvel, Bryce Marvel, Briana Marvel, Ollie Marvel, Paisley Marvel, Haydenn Marvel, 1 step great-grandson Maverick Reynolds.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Vanover Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
