James "Jim" Dossett of Clay died Wednesday, March 25th at Princeton Health and Rehab Center. Born September 24, 1932 in Henderson County, he was one of six children of J. T. and Clara Dossett of Henderson, who preceded him in death along with a sister, Carolyn Frasier , and brothers Jerry and Johnny Dossett , all of Henderson.
He was a retired manager and employee of Southern States Cooperative for over 30 years . A self taught musician, mechanic, and carpenter, he loved to cook, spend time with family, and in earlier days, to hunt for Indian artifacts. He was a member of St. Matthew By the Lake Lutheran Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
Jim is survived by one son, Dale, and daughter-in-law Mary, of Cadiz, and one daughter, Amy Boone, and son-in-law Jimmy, of Clay, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Sherry Clark, one brother, Ronnie Dossett, both of Henderson, one niece ,four nephews, and his long- time friend , Mattie Baxter, of Princeton.
There will be a family-only graveside service at Smith Mills Cemetery in Henderson County. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Matthews By the Lake Lutheran Church in Draffenville.
