James "J.V." Valter Townsend's Obituary
J.V. Townsend 79, of Clay, KY passed away Tuesday February 21, 2012 4:10 PM at his home in Clay, KY.
He was born September 14, 1932 in Boxville, KY to Roy and Stella Townsend.
He was co-owner and operator of Townsend's IGA for 47 years in Clay, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife Bettye Townsend in 1991. He was Lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his daughter Julianna Rhye and her husband Bruce of Clay, KY, and his grandson Clay Rhye and his wife Melanie of Henderson, KY.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 24, 2012 2:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY with Bros. Chip Palmer and Terry Rhye officiating and burial to follow in Odd fellows Cemetery in Clay, KY.
Visitation will be Thursday 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM til service time at the funeral home.
