Jerry Wendell Clark, 71 of Clay passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.

Jerry was born on August 12, 1951 in Wheatcroft to the late John "Tunney" and Martha Cowan Clark.

He was a coal miner and had worked for Peabody Camp #1 for 36 years and retired from Highland #9.  He was 50 year member and past master of Jachin Lodge #739 in Clay and was also past Master at Wheatcroft Masonic Lodge F & AM.  Jerry was a lifetime member of Wheatcroft Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was an elder.  He loved to play the guitar and sing and he was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Jonathan Clark.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years Sharon, a daughter Amy Adamson (Terry), son Scott Clark (Kristie) all of Clay, step-mother Pat Clark of Wheatcroft,  3 grandchildren Elizabeth Clark Waller, Korie Ann Clark, Karley Addison Clark, 3 step-grandchildren Jessica Terry (Matt), Brittnye Brown (Zack), Nick Adamson (Meredith), 3 step-great-grandchildren Quinn Terry, John Adamson, Grant Brown, uncle Freddy Clark of Dixon, aunt Joretta Clark of Clay, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Wheatcroft Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Dale Williams officiating.  Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, October 20, 2022 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home and 10:00 AM till service time on Friday at the church.
