Jimmy G. Oakley, 83 of Providence passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh.

Jimmy was born on July 5, 1938 in Lisman to the late Elmer and Dorothy Margaret Oakley.

Jimmy was in the United States Navy for 10 years.

Jimmy worked for the Providence Fire Department for over 30 years.  From 1995 til he retired in 2001 he was the fire chief.

He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Providence.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Annetta Heady.

Survivors include his wife of 61 ½ years Clara, 1 daughter Margaret LeeAnn France (Randy) of Providence, 1 son David Oakley (Darla) of Morganfield, 1 brother Doyle Oakley of Providence, 4 grandchildren Azalea Rich, Michael Tabor, Brittany Buckman and Kyle Tabor, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church in Providence.  Bro. Andy Corbin will be officiating. Military Rites will be at the gravesite.  Visitation will be Friday, August 20, 2021 at Victory Baptist Church 5:00 PM til 7:00 PM and 12:00 PM til service time at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Victory Baptist Church Youth Fund, c/o Patty White, 501 South Broadway, Providence, KY 42450.  Envelopes will be available at the church.
