Margie H. Shelton went to be with the lord on Saturday July 15, 2017. She was born in Wheatcroft, KY., on January 15, 1922, she was the daughter of Kivil and Bessie Hinton. She lived with her daughter in Bradenton, Florida. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-one years Amos H. Shelton, Sr., a sister Grace Marshall and a grandson K. Marshall Blackburn.

A very loving mother to her son, Amos H. Shelton, Jr., and to her daughter Angela S. Blackburn, both of Bradenton, Florida. She will be missed by her four grandchildren: Sherri S. Carroll, Margie (Midge) S. Shelby, Amos (Trey) H. Shelton, III and William S. Blackburn, as well as her six great grandchildren: Caitlen Carroll, John Shelton, Catherine Shelton, Ayden Blackburn, Jackson Shelby, and Ariana Blackburn. She is also survived by a brother Bill Hinton of Waynesboro, Virginia and a sister Anna Etta Brown of Providence, KY, in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Shelton was a devoted Christian who had read the bible through 52 times.  She was a long time Sunday school teacher, a choir member, and a volunteer for numerous other church activities.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY with Rev. Charles Linhart officiating.  Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery in Wheatcroft, KY.  Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19, 2017 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home and 9:00 AM til service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
