Melissa Donnell Downey, 56 of Providence passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN.

Melissa was born in Henderson on October 2, 1966 to Donald and Shirley Adams.

She was employed for several years by the Webster County Board of Education where she worked at Clay Elementary School in Clay.

She is preceded in death by her son Timothy Edward Don Burns and her father Donald Adams.

Survivors include her husband Chris Downey, daughter Kalista Downey of Uniontown and her mother Shirley Adams of Providence, granddaughter Alayah Hoover.

There will be visitation Wednesday, October 26, 2022 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay.

Vanover Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
