Obituary

Michael F. Courtney born on August 16, 1954 in Henderson County, KY passed away at her sister's home in Muhlenberg County on Saturday, April 21, after losing his battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sallie B. Kloke Courtney and Vernon Allen Courtney.
He is survived by one daughter, Bridget R. Courtney of Uniontown, KY a step-daughter, Amy G. Coker of Uniontown, KY;

Susan (Jim) Giddings of McDonough, GA
Elaine (Marvin) Hart of Nebo, KY
Edith (John) Franklin of Smithland, KY
Jocelyn (Kenny) Whitaker of Graham, KY
Gladys (Johnny) Smith of Morganfield, KY
Two brothers: Duane Courtney of Henderson, KY
Allen Courtney of London, KY
One grandson, two step grandsons, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews
He resided in Wheatcroft, KY and was employed at Clay Machine Shop in Clay, KY for 30 years. He attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Wheatcroft, KY. He was an avid softball player. His other interests included UK Basketball, a fan of Braves and Cardinals Baseball, and Nascar.
Funeral Arrangements will be at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, KY. Public viewing will be from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. Monday Evening, April 23, and Tuesday Morning from 9:00 until the funeral service at 1:00 pm conducted by Bro. Dale Williams. Burial will be in Smith Mills Cemetery in Smith Mills, KY.
