Reverend Laddie V. Pride, 80 of Providence passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 surrounded by his family at the Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Providence.  For 46 years of his life, "Bro. Laddie" preached the gospel of Jesus Christ.  He pastored five churches and preached many revivals.  Even in his last days he was still proclaiming Jesus by witnessing and praying with everyone who came to visit him.  He worked at Retiki Coal Mines in Henderson where he was known as "Preacher."  He was a proud Veteran of the United States of America serving in the Navy on the USS Midway.  He enjoyed hunting/fishing, golf, Kentucky Wildcats basketball, gardening, sitting on the front porch with friends and spending time with his family.  He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Jewel (Vaughn) Pride, six brothers Bayne, Doug, Charlie, Richard, Billy, and Ray.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Angela (Boswell) Pride, son Matt Pride and Suzanne of Hanson, daughter Julie Gibson and Ben of Providence, 2 grandchildren Kaitlin Gibson and Barret Gibson, one brother Roy Pride of Melbourne, FL and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, where he pastored for 26 years, on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Brother Jim Lantrip and Brother Nick Duvall officiating.  Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay.  Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2024 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM and 10:00 AM till service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Anthony's Hospice, 2410 South Green Street, Henderson, KY 42420. Envelopes will be available at the church.
