Rodney Gerald Russell, 68 of Clay passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Redbanks Colonial Terrace in Sebree.

Rodney was born in Madisonville on April 12, 1956 to Gerald "Pedro" and Mona Russell.

Rodney worked in construction and built many houses in the tri-state area and was involved in Russell Builders Lumber Co. in Clay.  After retiring he moved to Eddyville where he enjoyed fishing and working as a guard at Kentucky State Penitentiary.

He is preceded in death by his father Gerald "Pedro" Russell, 2 step-sons Chris Russell and Michael Russell.

Survivors include his mother Mona Russell of Clay, 2 sons Drew Russell of Dycusburg, Alex Russell (Aubrey) of Owensboro, 1 sister Lou Ann Russell (Chris Bunch) of Clay, 3 granddaughters Novalea Russell, Chloe Russell and Reese Russell.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Brother Earl Reeves officiating.  Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday 10:00 AM till service time at the funeral home.
