Ruby Nell Blackburn

Ruby Nell Blackburn 89, of Dixion, Ky passed away Saturday April 18th, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville

She was born June 2nd, 1936, in Bremen, Ky to her parents William H. and Stacy L. Bowles. She was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian church in Clay, KY

Ruby spent 30 years caring for others as a CNA in hospitals across Kentucky and Indiana, a role she poured her whole heart into. She was cherished by her family and friends, and her sister, nieces, and nephews will forever miss her bright laugh — and her famous chocolate pies and banana pudding that always brought everyone together.

She was preceded in death by her Parents William H. and Stacy L. Bowles. husband Charles Blackburn, son Brian Woodall, siblings Daniel Bowles and David Murell Bowles.

Survivors include her son Gene Wayne Woodall Jr., sister Mary Macaulay of Elizabethtown and Several Nieces and Nephews.

The family would like to offer a very special thank you to her dearest friend, Anna Nall. Their hearts are full of gratitude for the way she stood by her side, and for the countless acts of love and support she gave to their sister and aunt.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Blackford.

Visitation will be Saturday 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
