Shakota Marie Nelson

Shakota Marie Nelson, 34 of Sebree, formerly of Clay, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

Shakota was born in Henderson on April 13, 1992 to David Wilson and Edna Atwood.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Clay.

Shakota is preceded in death by her husband Edward Nelson, 4 rainbow babies and her daughter Braxleigh Nelson; fraternal grandparents Linda and John Nichols; Maternal grandparents Danny and Geraldine Lewis; aunt Judy Steinmetiz; uncle Curtis Wilson; great-grandparents Edna and Roy Jensen, Mary and Noah Wilson.

Survivors include her son and daughter Anthony and Aubriana Nelson of Sebree; her mother and step-father Edna and Tommy Atwood of Princeton; her father and step-mother David and Tracy Wilson of Sebree; brothers Justin Wilson (Brittany Pompell) and David Wilson, Jr. both from Sebree; step-brother Austin Atwood and his wife Laken; grandmother Barbara Prowell of Princeton; nieces and nephews Avery, Noah, Aubree, Keygean, and Amiyah; many aunts and uncles.
