Sharon June Stone, aged 88, of Clay, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.
Born on September 27, 1937, in Evansville, Sharon was the cherished daughter of the late Raleigh Buck and Stella Alsip. She was a devoted member of Wheatcroft Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where her faith was a central part of her life.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne; grandson Kyle Stone; great-grandson Connor Whitledge; sister Mary Parker; and brothers Jimmy Alsip, Bobby Alsip, Charles Alsip, and Freddy Alsip.
She is lovingly remembered by her family, including her daughters Sherry Duncan (Steve) and Brenda Moore (Larry) of Dixon; sons Randy Stone (Debbie), Anthony Stone (Lisa) of Clay, and Dondi Stone (Karen) of Eddyville; and sister-in-law Betty Alsip of Evansville. Sharon was also a proud grandmother to fifteen grandchildren: Heath Stone (Amy), Justin Stone (Jennifer), Natalie Roundtree (Will), Chad Stone (Brittany), Derek Stone (Morgan), Chason Stone (Tyler), Daniel Boswell (Ali), Valerie Whitledge (Dewayne), Don William Ferguson, Meagan Harvey (Alex), Larry Wayne Moore, Angie Garrard (Cory), Holly Bumpus (Jeff), Quintin Stone (Jennifer), and Chasity Teague. She further leaves behind forty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, with Brother Dale Williams and Brother Wayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow at New Clay Cemetery in Clay. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wheatcroft Cumberland Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 7, Wheatcroft, KY 42463. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
