Wilburn Troy Shields, 96 of Sturgis passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at Crittenden County Health and Rehab in Marion.

Wilburn was born in Pride on July 26, 1925 to the late Fendell Harris and Beulah Shields.

He was a coal miner and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sullivan.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Shields in 2016.

Survivors include 3 daughters Sandra Germane of Sturgis, Reba Sparks of Westmoreland, TN, Connie James (Michael) of Huntsville, AL, 2 brothers William Harris Shields (Marcia) of Henderson and Jerry Allen Shields (Carol) of Bryn Mawr, PA, 3 grandchildren Sarah Osborne, Jessica deBeers, Bradley James and 3 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Sullivan Community Cemetery.

Vanover Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
