Helen LaDon Kelley Frederick, 95 of Clay passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at her residence.
LaDon was born in Clay on March 29, 1925 to the late Dailey Hyatt and Agnes Proctor Kelley.
She was a member of Clay First Baptist Church and had read the bible thru from start to finish 38 times over a period of 38 years. She was the first female in the area to drive a John Deere tractor. She also wrote letters to the troops during World War II.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Wyatt in 2007, 2 sons Donald in 1949 and Roderick in 1952 and a grandson Samuel in 1989.
Survivors include 2 daughters Betty Knight (Donny) and Agnes Poe (Elvis) both of Clay 2 sons John Frederick (Linda) of Murray and Terry Frederick (Penny) of Clay, 1 Brother D.H. Kelley (Martha) of Clay, 9 grandchildren Jesse Knight, Katy Black, Jennifer Wolf, Elvis Poe, Jr., Samantha Ashby, Max Ivan Frederick Jines, Nathan Frederick, Jeremy Frederick and Curry Jo Cates and 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Monday, August 31, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Oddfellows Cemetery with Bro. Rick Oakley and Bro. Jeff McMain officiating.
Visitation will be Monday 11:00 AM til 1:30 PM at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay.
