Obituary

Marshall Deon Parker, 83 of Clay passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his residence.

Deon was born on October 5, 1939 in Wheatcroft to the late Flint and Lorene Parker, he was a coal miner and retired after 35 years from Dotiki, he was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Clay where he was also a deacon for many years.  Deon took several mission trips to various countries.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Parker Brooks in 2010.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Nancy, a daughter Terri Parker of Providence, son Marshall “Dondi” Parker of Clay. Sisters LaDonna Pollard (Earl) of Wheatcroft, Mildred Gerline Gilliam (Gene) of Sebree, son-in-law Roger Brooks of Clay, 3 granddaughters Maisie Schneider (Joseph) of Providence, Tara Childress of Madisonville, Elizabeth Tucker (Lindsay) of Vero Beach, FL. 2 great-grandchildren Seth and Zoey Schneider.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Clay with Bro. Dale Williams and Bro. Corey Rash officiating.  Burial will be in New Clay Cemetery in Clay.  Visitation will be Saturday 9:00 AM till service at the church.
