Mary Martha (Allen) Douglas

Mary Martha Douglas, 71 of Wheatcroft passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital.

Mary was born April 2, 1950 in Towncreek, AL.

She was a coal miner and retired from Island Creek Coal.  She was a member of grace Baptist Church in Clay.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Melvin Douglas, Sr. in 2012, 2 granddaughters Keyleigh and Saria Douglas in 2004 and a brother James Allen.

Survivors include 1 daughter Shirley Miller and 1 son Melvin Douglas, Jr. “Joe Joe” both of Wheatcroft, 3 sisters Essie Lawrence, Courtland, AL, Nebo King of Sturgis, Yvonne Culprson of Chattanooga, TN, 2 brothers Richard Allen and Frank King both of Towncreek, AL, 4 grandchildren Faith Miller, Feather Miller, Filana Miller, Derrick Douglas and 3 great-grandchildren Devontae, Kemaria and Bryson Douglas.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church in Clay with Brother Ronnie Gibson officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday 10:00 AM til service time at the church.  Burial will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Jones Cemetery in Towncreek, AL.
