Winfred “Winkie” Brantley, 88 of Clay passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Shewells Nursing Home in Providence.
Winkie was born in Clay on October 15, 1932 to the late Jack and Margaret Brantley.
He was a member of New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. He was in the United States Army.
He was a coal miner and retired from Peabody Camp 1. He loved farming and collecting antique tractors and enjoyed antique tractor pulls.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Betty Brantley, 3 daughters Donna Hodges, Deana (Terry) Wallace both of Madisonville, and Darla Brantley of Clay, 3 sisters Marie Brantley (Richard) of Providence, Jackie Henry of St. Clair, MO and Dana Jo Vaughn of Providence, 1 brother Douglas Brantley (Diane) of Clay, 5 grandchildren Andy Hodges, Amy Kitchens, Amanda Moore, Taylor Brown and Warren Brown and 6 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 1:00 PM at White Oak Cemetery in Clay with Brother Jimmy Sigler officiating.
Vanover Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
