Sorry to hear about your loss. Lydia was a wonderful person and a wonderful skating instructor. I took lessons from her from age 12 to 17 in Evansville. She was always a lot of fun and mixed fun with learning. I remember she took a group of us skaters from Evansville to Louisville for tests. We stayed in a motel and one night we went on a "snipe" hunt. Just kid stuff, but so much fun. We were all so lucky to have grown up in those times. Lydia was a positive influence on all of us. How lucky we were to have had her in our life.

Sincere condolences to Lydia's family. She was my long time skating coach at Gardiner Lane and we kept in touch for many years after I left Louisville. She provided the biggest bright spot in my adolescent life with her warmth, encouragement, and "go get em' " attitude. I will remember her as a purple wearing, fiesty, grinning, loving woman. What a wonderful human. She taught me so much both on and off the ice and I am forever grateful.
